The topic today should be both School from Home and Work from home ..
Due to the world Pandemic, when the Corona Virus hit everyone and have a significant effect to almost all layers of people, In Indonesia, it started significantly in early March. And until time of writing the blog, it has reached over 900 thousand with more than 25000 fatalities and over 82% recoveries.
Almost everything are nose-diving, or at least, trembling. Companies are cutting salaries, lay off people, some even closing down. And we are talking a world-wide condition. Where everything are slowing down...
Social distancing applied, government commanded all school to do distance learning through internet, work are handled carefully, and surviving is our main goal for 2020.
In Indonesia, the govt through DikNas start distributing simcard with internet quota of 10G for every students who happen to do SFH. Seems that the fenomenal 'tol langit' whom was contempt by some people, turn out to help a lot, especially for those in certain part of Indonesia. Mobil connections are much better which help this SFH.
Aside from it, there are bigger problem. As predicted gap between parents and children turn out to be the biggest obstacle. Whilst parents are struggling to make ends meet, children also need more attention.
Every one of us have our own battle, whatever it is. And for us, it is filling the gap and manage the time between paying attention to them, doing some housework and finishing office task. As a mother of two teenagers, i find them amusing yet get me on my nerves from time to time. Most of the time, is when they consider us as 'walking dictionary' .. and get lots closer than before :) .. There are endless conversation, from a drop-dead serious until a silly hanky-panky business that my mom cant even imagine that her grandchildren would ask.
Both of us find that there are significant differences from our time with theirs. Its their freedom to speak, to think even to see things from different angle might amazed you. They made me keep scrolling up and down for answers, looking for references, articles , even consulting with some friends when we find something extraordinary. I know that this might find exaggerating, but we are doing it. We are not afraid to look for opinions from others.
